OVERVIEW
BRADLEY JAMES DILLAHUNTY SCHOLARSHIP
Brad graduated in the top of his class as a scholar athlete in 2002. In addition he was a highly decorated football player and captain. Brad was accepted to 10 colleges when he graduated, and five of them offered him an academic scholarship. Once Brad and I were having a conversation and he said how much he loved school. I remember telling him that just wasn’t right to love high school that much! The funny thing is I envied the way he felt, as most of us do not feel that way about high school. He was always dedicated to his grades and to playing the game of football. He loved his friends in school and grew up with most of them. I never wondered where he was during those years. He was almost always found on the football field! Once during football he had to make a choice of finishing an Ethics class project or missing a practice in football. Hartigan football didn’t allow for that latter. He chose to finish the Ethics project and was not allowed to suit up against Tustin for the game. A copy of the letter of recommendation that teacher wrote for him is attached. It shows the character Brad had for years running at SMCHS. In light of his stellar is Santa Margarita Catholic High School career we decide to give a scholarship every year in his name.
Every year 2 Junior classmen will be chosen to receive the Bradley James Dillahunty Scholarship Award. They must maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. They must be an athlete in or involved in Santa Margarita extracurricular activities. There must be a financial need. The scholarships are available Junior and Senior year. We interview the candidates and give our recommendations to the Principal. Our hope is to continue the scholarship for many years to come. We hope those in need will apply and we look forward to meeting you! Please contact Santa Margarita Catholic High School and ask for the office of the President.
